BMW X6

new BMW X6. The stats on this ride seem very, very solid. Consider these two Twin Turbo direct injection engines:
  • xDrive50i (4.4 V8 engine, 400 hp, 450lb.-ft torque)
  • xDrive35i (3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, 300 hp, 300 lb.-ft torque)

That’s a lot of horsepower. Add xDrive and the legendary BMW badge and it probably amounts to a pretty hot car.

So why are we having issues? It’s that rear end. What is going there? We’re purists. Chris Bangle (BMW’s Top Design Dog) messes with our heads. We hated the shape. Now, we’re not so sure. In fact, it’s actually growing on us. But you can decide for yourself. I think this one is going to come down to love it or hate it personal choice. Detail product at autodope.com.

They Say BMW Z9

I don't know about the rest of you but if this is the new Z9, then I feel a little let down. The Z8 had instant collectability written all over it. I've dealt in classic and collectable cars for over 10 yrs as a hobby and as a career. There are not many modern day automobiles you can look to and say "that's going to be worth something someday". The Z8 was one of those rare exceptions. I'm sure the Z9 will perform extremely well and sell well but it lacks character, uniqueness, and the overwhelming styling flair of the Z8. The Z8 was a rolling piece of art with little details everywhere that appeared almost as jewelry in the design. If you are one of the lucky few that own an Alpina Edition, please take care of it. Someday you will be glad you did. (created autospies.com).
